Cooking Club

The Cooking Club is looking for kids on the autism spectrum between the ages of 11 - 14 who are interested in cooking or learning to cook, going on outings to restaurants, and making new friends.

By planning kid-friendly snacks and meals, following recipes, managing time, and enjoying the fruits of their labor, our students will work on executive functioning skills in a fun, laid back environment with like-minded peers.

Every month features a different culinary theme (i.e., Italian, Mexican, All American) and culminates in a related restaurant outing (i.e., California Pizza Kitchen, Baja Fresh, McDonald’s) to provide an opportunity to form relationships with peers in the natural environment. Carryover to the home environment is encouraged through use of the recipe book that members will be creating and adding to each week.

Cooking Club will meet weekly for 2 hours. Ingredients and aprons will be supplied and are included in the overall price. We have space for 8 club members, allowing for a 4 to 1 child to adult ratio.
